Collaborative Technologies

After learning about collaborative technologies, I realized that this would be a fun tool to introduce to the classroom setting. The primary use of them I can see is for group collaboration on a project. Using tools such as Notemesh and Yugma allows the teacher to lead a discussion with the entire class or group members to explain and answer questions about a project or assignment. It is also possible for students to have their own discussion. One of them would need to be the leader of the chat and let the others know the session number so they can join.

One aspect that I like of these tools is that you can chat with all or select members during the collaboration. So if one person is leading, then the others can still offer their input even though they don't have full control at the moment.

This tool also allows students to work on a project without meeting in person. They can all be at home and still work together on an assignment. This is really nice for college students as well because time is crucial!
